Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Ramblify uses, why we use it and the choices you have.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Who is responsible for your information
Ramblify is the data controller for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@ramblify.com.
Information we use
- Account and profile: your email address, authentication information, username, display name, and any avatar, bio or location you choose to provide.
- Rambles and activity: journeys, places, descriptions, recommendations, photos and other media you add; drafts and published content; Rambles you save; Remix source attribution; and your preferences.
- Safety and contact: reports, moderation records, support and privacy messages, and technical information needed to run and protect the service, such as browser, device and security logs.
- Optional analytics: information about use of Ramblify through Google Analytics 4 (GA4) only after you accept analytics.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
We use account, profile and Ramble information to provide sign-in, operate Ramblify, store and publish the content you choose to publish, manage your profile and saved Rambles, and show Remix attribution. We rely on our contract with you to provide these requested features.
We use technical and report information to keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, review reports and moderate content. Our legitimate interests are protecting users and operating a reliable service; we consider those interests against your rights. We also use support messages to answer enquiries and improve the service where appropriate.
We use optional GA4 analytics to understand and improve Ramblify only with your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time. We may also process or retain information where necessary to meet a legal obligation.
Public and private content
Published public Rambles can include your profile information, places, travel descriptions, photos and recommendations. They are visible to anyone on the internet and may appear in search results. Please consider what you include before publishing.
Private drafts are not intentionally published. Rambles you save are private to you. Media attached to private or draft Rambles is not intended to be publicly accessible; media in a published public Ramble is available as part of that public content. Removing or unpublishing content can stop future access through Ramblify, but copies cached outside Ramblify may remain temporarily.
Remixes
A Remix creates a separate editable Ramble. The original creator’s photos are not copied, but source attribution may be retained. If the source Ramble is deleted, its link may disappear while the Remix remains.
Reports and moderation
We may receive reports, review reported content, restrict or unpublish content, and keep moderation records as reasonably needed for safety and administration.
Cookies and analytics
GA4 is optional and activates only after you accept analytics. You can reject analytics or withdraw consent through Cookie settings in the footer. Essential site and account functions work without analytics. Our Cookie Policy explains the controls.
Service providers and disclosures
We use Supabase for authentication, database and media storage; Netlify for hosting and deployment; Mapbox for maps and place information; and an email provider for transactional account emails. Google Analytics processes analytics information only after you consent. These providers receive information needed for their services. We may also disclose information if legally required.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where data protection law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
How long we keep information
Account information is generally kept while your account exists. We keep Rambles and media until you delete them or your account, subject to backups and information we need to retain for legal or safety reasons. Reports, moderation records and support or privacy correspondence are kept for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. Analytics retention depends on our Google Analytics configuration and your consent choice.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your information, restrict or object to its use, and receive or transfer certain information where applicable. You can withdraw consent for analytics through Cookie settings. To exercise your rights, email privacy@ramblify.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Age requirement
Ramblify accounts are intended for people aged 16 or over. Ramblify is not intended for children under 16. If we learn that an under-16 account has been created, we may take reasonable steps to restrict or remove it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when Ramblify changes. We will show the latest update date here. For privacy matters, email privacy@ramblify.com. You can also read our Terms of Use.
